What We’re Looking For
We’re thrilled to announce that Playjacent is now open for submissions! We’re inviting writers, creative thinkers, and creators of all kinds to share work that explores play, curiosity, imagination, and creative experimentation. Whether your style is reflective, poetic, narrative, or entirely your own, we want to see what you’ve been working on and bring fresh voices into the pages of Playjacent. We accept writing, photography, video, etc., about design, leisure, play, self-definition, celebration, or connection.
We publish personal and creative work that explores play in all its forms — from creativity and intimacy to curiosity, imagination, rest, movement, and experimentation.

We welcome submissions from anyone interested in exploring play through personal reflection or storytelling, no experience required.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
When submitting your writing to Playjacent, please follow these guidelines:
We welcome writing, photography, video, and other creative formats exploring design, leisure, play, self-definition, celebration, or connection.
Submissions should generally be between 500 and 2,000 words.
We accept files in .docx or .pdf formats, or you can provide a Google Docs link.
Previously published work may be submitted, as long as you hold the rights to share it.
If your submission is not in English, please provide an English translation.
tIMELINE
Our review process typically takes 2–4 weeks. We will reach out if your submission is selected for publication.
IF SELECTED, NEXT STEPS, AND EDITING EXPECTATIONS
Selected pieces may be lightly edited for clarity and formatting. Any substantive edits will be shared with you for approval prior to publication.
If your piece/work is selected for publication, you will receive full credit as the author, a short author bio to accompany your work, and your piece may be shared on our social channels to highlight your work.
At this time, submissions are not compensated financially, but we are excited to showcase your creativity and bring your work to a wider audience.
PLEASE NOTE
By submitting your work to Playjacent, you retain full copyright as the author. You grant us non-exclusive digital publishing rights to feature your piece on our website and related platforms. We may also use short excerpts of your work for promotional purposes, always crediting you as the author.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through the red “submit” button at the top or bottom of the page. It will send you to a google form for you to submit. Fill in the information, attach your work, and hit send!

Yes! If you prefer to remain anonymous or want certain details omitted from your submission, please make note in your email.

Yes, especially if you have an idea for an ongoing series. However, only completed, original pieces will be selected for publishing.
